Stephan Hillaert, new CEO of AFIX Group
AALTER (BELGIUM) – The management team of scaffolding manufacturer Afix Group assigned Stephan Hillaert as new CEO starting from January 1st, 2023. He will take over from Chris Fleurbaey who started the company in 2004 together with Pierre Debucke. From its headquarters in Aalter, Afix Group grew in two decades from a start-up with two entrepreneurs to a group with 11 branches in 7 different countries, some 200 employees and a turnover of +/- €45 mio.
DOUBLE TURNOVER
Stephan Hillaert (49) joined Afix Group in September 2020 as CCO. Over the past two years, the company grew from €25MIO to €45MIO. His professional career started at RICOH, where he went through several management positions including Director Marketing & Communications Belux. He then joined Thyssen Krupp Elevator as Managing Director Northern Europe. As the new CEO, Stephan Hillaert will lead the company and strengthen its international growth.
The Board of Directors has ambitious targets and aims to grow the company further to €100MIO. The growth will be supported in part by Dovesco. The investment vehicle of the De Clerck family. Dovesco has helped facilitate the growth acceleration by actively supporting the business planning, the refinancing of the company, the execution of the first acquisition and the evolution towards a more developed corporate governance.
Chris Fleurbaey will not disappear from the company. After 19 years as founder-CEO, he will now take up a new position as entrepreneurial director and focus on building and professionalising strategic procurement. As a director, Chris Fleurbaey will remain linked to Afix Group's policy and international expansion.
EXPERTISE OF JOS DE VUYST
In addition to the financial Dovesco input, Afix Group can also count on the management skills of Jos De Vuyst as of April 1st, 2023. As CEO of Stow, manufacturer of high-quality racking systems and in 2020 "Belgian company of the Year," he will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afix Group.
