SOREZE - The 330 m long viaduct approaches its finalization. Anchoring cables are to be installed in top op the viaduct 2 pillons at 120 m above sea-level.
The Sorèze-Chebel bridge is a 2 pylon supported viaduct that will relief the road congestions on the M1 motorway in Mauritius. The project started in 2018 and is now approaching its finalisation. The 330 m-long structure overpasses Grand Rivière Nord-Ouest at more than 120 metres heigth and aims to become the most aesthetically pleasing structure and national landmark in Mauritius.
The bridge deck will include a four-lane asphalt surface for vehicles, a pedestrian footbridge on each side and two nature observation bridges.
The consortium Transinvest-GCC Ltd-Bouygues TP has completed the two columns of the Sorèze-Chebel bridge and now installs the anchoring cables by means of Afix Fast access scaffolding. Later on the final stage of deck laying will begin. The budgeted project cost was Rs 4,3 milliards.
