SCAFFOLDING
concept

  • In accordance with the European standard EN 12811-1 (1 floor with 100% of the permitted load and 1 floor with 50% of the permitted load). This load is stated on the access label.
  • Shielding with wind resistant parts is not permitted, unless stated otherwise on the access label.
  • Lifting on scaffolding components is only permitted with the written permission of the scaffold manufacturer.
  • The maximum useful load on extensions is 1.5 kN/m² unless specifically stated otherwise.

Scaffolding
ACCESS

  • The scaffold may only be accessed if it is provided with an approved access label.
  • The user carries out a visual check on the entire rack construction.
  • The scaffold may only be accessed via the provided means of access. These must remain clear at all times.
  • When climbing a ladder, no material shall be carried in the hands and the ladder shall always be held by the rungs.
  • Cage ladders must always be climbed from the inside.

Weather
RISKS

  • The scaffold may only be used if the weather conditions do not endanger the safety and health of the users.
  • In the event of storms and thunderstorms, the client must ensure that any covering nets or tarpaulins are rolled up and/or removed.
  • Have the scaffold erectors check for anchors and loose parts on the scaffold floor.
  • After a storm, the scaffold should be surveyed again and inspected by a competent scaffold inspector

CONTROL OF THE SCAFFOLD
by the user

  • After extreme weather conditions.
  • In the event of changed environmental factors (excavation work, traffic and others)
  • In the event of a significant load increase (blasting grid, demolition debris and others)
  • The user is responsible for maintenance and any periodic checks.

Modification of the
SCAFFOLD CONSTRUCTION

  • Changes to scaffolding should preferably be carried out by the company that assembled the scaffolding.
  • Handrails, side boards and floors may not be removed or moved.

Prevention of
FALLING OBJECTS

  • After completion of the work, the scaffold floors must be cleared of all loose material (stone rubble, plaster, wood, metal parts, etc.) by the client/user.

DISASSEMBLY
of the scaffold

  • Before dismantling, the scaffolding components must be cleaned by the client/user and completely purged of all substances, blasting grit, fats, oils, paints, plaster and chemicals, and more specifically of asbestos fibres and dust.

FIRST USE
of the scaffold

  • The scaffolding may only be used by persons who have received training enabling them to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their work while using the scaffolding.
  • If a scaffold construction no longer complies, the access label must be removed, the scaffold manufacturer must be informed, work on the scaffold must be stopped and access to the scaffold must be prevented by material means.
